Turn your creative skills into real agency experience.
Busy Mom Socials is looking for seasonal Content Creator Interns who already understand the basics of filming and photography and want to grow their skills inside a working San Diego marketing agency. This is a paid, hands-on opportunity to assist with real client content shoots, capture strategic photo and video assets, learn how to direct business owners, organize professional content vaults, and help create content for the Busy Mom Socials brand. Applications are open year-round.
Now reviewing applications for our Winter Content Creator Internship. Apply by October 16, 2026 for priority consideration.
Learn content creation by doing the real work.
This is not an internship where you spend the season watching from the sidelines. You will join the Busy Mom Socials team during real client content shoots throughout San Diego County. You will help capture A-roll, B-roll, smartphone photography, behind-the-scenes footage, service demonstrations, team content, and brand storytelling. You will also help Busy Mom Socials create content for our own Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, website, portfolio, recruiting, and behind-the-scenes marketing. The goal is to give you experience inside the full content-production process, from preparing a shot list to organizing the final footage.
Capture A-Roll
Film educational videos, expert conversations, client talking points, interviews, and service explanations.
Capture B-Roll
Film intentional movement, workspaces, treatments, services, behind-the-scenes moments, branding details, and client experiences.

Capture high-quality vertical and horizontal photos of clients, services, team members, products, office spaces, events, and brand details.
Find the season that fits your schedule
Busy Mom Socials selects one paid Content Creator Intern for each seasonal cohort. Each internship offers hands-on experience supporting approximately three San Diego client content shoots per month, along with opportunities to help create content for the Busy Mom Socials brand.

What the role looks like
The Content Creator Intern will attend approximately three client content shoots per month at businesses throughout San Diego County. Most shoots will take place at a client's medspa, clinic, office, studio, wellness practice, real estate location, or another approved filming location. The intern will work alongside the Busy Mom Socials team to help capture strategic content for both our clients and our agency.
Capture A-Roll
Film educational videos, expert conversations, client talking points, interviews, and service explanations.
Capture B-Roll
Film intentional movement, workspaces, treatments, services, behind-the-scenes moments, branding details, and client experiences.
Take Smartphone Photos
Capture high-quality vertical and horizontal photos of clients, services, team members, products, office spaces, events, and brand details.
Support Busy Mom Socials Content
Help document agency life, content days, team growth, educational moments, client interactions, and behind-the-scenes footage.
Follow Shot Lists
Use a customized shot list to ensure all required photos and video clips are captured during the shoot.

Label, sort, upload, and organize files inside client content vaults and the internal Busy Mom Socials content vault.
What you will help create

Build skills you can use in your own creative career
Shot-List Planning
Learn how an agency organizes a content shoot before arriving at the client's location.
Smartphone Filming
Improve framing, movement, exposure, focus, lighting, and vertical-video production.
Smartphone Photography
Learn how to capture portraits, service photos, workspace imagery, brand details, and website-ready content.
Client Direction
Learn how to help business owners feel comfortable on camera and guide them through talking points, movement, poses, and demonstrations.
Content Organization
Learn how to label footage, maintain content vaults, and organize large amounts of client content.
Agency Workflow
Understand how strategy, filming, editing, design, copywriting, approvals, and publishing work together.
You may be a strong fit if...
This is not a beginner position for someone who has never filmed before. Applicants should already understand the basics and be ready to improve through real client experience.
Wedding and event creators are encouraged to apply
Some of our strongest content creators have experience in the wedding industry. Wedding and event creators often understand how to move quickly, capture meaningful details, anticipate moments, work in changing environments, use a gimbal smoothly, and build a visual story from a live experience. Wedding experience is not required.
Equipment and experience
You do not need to own an entire professional filming setup to apply. Busy Mom Socials will provide the systems, content storage, shot lists, direction, and agency workflow needed for each client shoot.
Required
Smartphone
An iPhone 16 Pro or comparable recent professional-quality smartphone.
Gimbal
A smartphone gimbal you already know how to use.
Transportation
Reliable transportation to content shoots throughout San Diego County.
Filming Experience
Basic experience filming vertical social media content.
You should already understand the basics of using your phone to capture steady, well-framed photo and video content. You do not need to be an expert. We are looking for someone with a solid foundation who is excited to learn through real client experience.
Our Recommended Gimbal
Our preferred gimbal is the Insta360 Flow 2. After testing several options, this is the gimbal our team currently enjoys using most for smartphone content creation. It is an investment, so applicants are not required to purchase it before applying. However, selected interns should have access to a reliable compatible gimbal before their first scheduled content shoot. Our team can provide equipment recommendations during the hiring process.
Helpful but Not Required
Busy Mom Socials typically has backup batteries, microphones, lighting, and other equipment available during client shoots.
Storage
Applicants are not required to provide their own cloud-storage system. Busy Mom Socials will provide the approved storage and file-organization process for client and agency content.
What Matters Most
You do not need the most expensive equipment or years of professional experience. You need a strong creative foundation, the required phone and gimbal access, and a willingness to grow with our team.
Creative work still requires professionalism
Busy Mom Socials works inside active businesses and around real clients, patients, employees, and customers. Selected interns are expected to represent the agency professionally.
Selected applicants may be required to sign confidentiality, media-use, internship, employment, or contractor agreements depending on the final structure of the role.
This is a paid opportunity
Compensation is based on previous experience, portfolio quality, filming ability, photography ability, gimbal experience, equipment, reliability, role responsibilities, shoot length, and travel requirements. Final compensation, schedule expectations, and responsibilities will be discussed before the selected applicant accepts the position.
A seasonal role with room to grow
This internship is seasonal, but strong performance may lead to future freelance opportunities with Busy Mom Socials. An ongoing role is not guaranteed. Interns may be considered for future paid opportunities based on reliability, professionalism, filming quality, photography quality, growth during the internship, ability to follow direction, client interaction, file organization, communication, team fit, and agency staffing needs.
A note from our founder
Busy Mom Socials grew because people gave me opportunities to learn, practice, and gain real experience. I care deeply about creating that type of opportunity for another emerging creator.
This internship is for someone who already has creative ability but wants to understand how those skills work inside a complete marketing system. You will learn how we plan shoots, direct business owners, capture content with intention, organize client footage, and turn one content day into weeks of strategic marketing.
We are looking for someone who is coachable, dependable, creative, professional, and willing to take the work seriously while still having fun with our team. The right intern will leave with stronger skills, real client experience, and a better understanding of what it takes to work in content creation and social media marketing.
